Dear Mr. O’Connor,
"My solar system continues to operate as it should thanks to your thoroughness in evaluating and correcting the erroneous wiring done by the previously hired installer. The field of ‘solar energy’ was quite foreign to me. You not only fixed the installation of my system, but more importantly, you helped me understand ‘how’ solar energy is made and ‘how’ to calculate and monitor my usage.
You were a very good listener, it seems to me: identifying the starting point of what I knew (or didn’t quite know) and – from there, explaining in layman’s terms the big picture of ‘solar energy’ and just enough of the details of energy, amps, volts to help me feel more comfortable with my system.
‘Solar Energy’ is a rather big up-front investment. Thanks to your professionalism and ability to communicate the ins and outs of how my system operates, I can say now that I am glad I made it".

We used John to trouble shoot and repair existing lighting and plug circuits in our 1960’s home, analyze our heating circuit to help determine what our issues were, and wiring our new bathroom. We feel John kept our budget, best interests, and safety in mind. We have such peace of mind knowing our electrical is up to code and safe. John worked quickly, was honest, and easy to communicate with. We will use Tesuque Electric& Solar and John O’Connor for all our future electrical needs. I worked under John O'Connor for over five years at Sunlight and Power. John was the Master Electrician overseeing general operations. The defining statement about John; he is exceptionally detail oriented. This quality is pervasive in every aspect of his role. Installations were done "right" while competitors enjoyed pushing the boundaries to a lessor standard. Eventually John's methodologies were adopted as the industry gold standard. I can site several examples. One especially memorable example was the great lengths John took to obtain hot-dipped galvanized mounting channel where all our competitors were using electroplate. The difference is enormous since his installations would outlast any others by decades. John is a self- professed ludite but I have seen John learn a complicated drawing program in a matter of days. John is a huge resource, knowing where to obtain the most obscure parts, at the best price and the nearest location. His knowledge an electrician is irrefutable, citing specific pages in the NEC so I could learn more depth and reason for his initial specific reply. When John inspected my work, he was methodical and logical. I learned more during a brief chat with him than I could in days of research. Where John truly shines is in newer technologies. Having the vast resource of years as an electrician gives him the ability to forge ahead when new innovations present in the real world. John can be counted on to employ best-practices in an efficient manner. - Karl O'Melay, Forman, Sunlight & Power, Berkeley, CA
